RE: New Game
Every theme park I've been to hasn't had one.

It would be a simple game though to fit within the current game interface though.

I guess they'd be useful for a boardwalk...

you can have it all, anything you want you can make it yours

RE: New Game
I can see where it might be amusing to have a fortune teller. Some of the predictions could be:

"You will pay too much for an upgrade of a buggy Microsoft product. The new version will have more bugs."

"Atari will publish a buggy game. They will ignore all complaints."

"Politicians will take more money from you and say it is not a tax."

^Maybe not that transparent, but a great output nonetheless.

Because it is media rich and easier than most other languages, I have seriously suggested that Flash be used for interactive video games, concessionaire stands and midway games.

RE: New Game

I think this is an excellent idea. As TPB3D is the game of the future, I don’t think we need be concerned what other parks may or may not have.

We can extend this fortune teller idea further by theming the fortune teller and her stall. If one has an Atlantis themed park, perhaps TPB3D game players can choose to dress her in an Atlantean outfit and have the stall look Atlantean. Might be a good idea of this option were available for all the scenery types. For a Gothic, Horror or Military themed park, maybe there could be an option to choose a man to be the fortune teller.

  • “Thank you Caller, you’re with us live here at TPB3D On The Air …… Walt, who ? ! ? …… "
  • Keep One Hand on the Mouse and the Other on the Keyboard!
  • An interface, divided, will surely stand.

RE: New Game
You mean like the 'fortune' command in the linux terminal? It tells you things like this:
You have many friends and very few living enemies.
You are going to have a new love affair.
You will not be elected to public office this year.
You had some happiness once, but your parents moved away, and you had to
leave it behind.
Beware of a tall blond man with one black shoe.
You will gain money by an immoral action.
You will inherit millions of dollars.
You dialed 5483.
Don't read any sky-writing for the next two weeks.'
You've taken yourself too seriously.
Your lucky number is 3552664958674928. Watch for it everywhere.

The linux version could just use the 'fortune' command, because that one has a very large amount of this kind of remarks..

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

RE: New Game

Personally I think these fortunes are O.K. There probably should be a way to store the peep’s fortune somewhere within their profile, this way, along with seeing that the peep has ridden which rides, eaten what food, drunk which drinks and is holding what merchandise we can also see what fortunes they have had told.

Some time in the game's future, possibly the coders could find some way of giving the fortune that has been told some bearing on the peep’s overall mood and park experience – in which case most of the fortunes should probably be more topical to the park

RE: New Game
Requires an animatronic figure too. Am thinking maybe as again a flash animated hand-off game within the main game same like for skeeball etc. Check out skeeball here and you can see it in action.

RE: New Game

Probably in line with everything else in the game at this early stage, the fortune teller could be a static staff member, like the food stall attendants, ride queue booth staff and lifeguards. Possibly we might have the option to change the fortune teller’s theme or the colour of their uniform at the beginning.

EDIT: is there a way to make it smaller?

Check my stuff out at the Atari Forums, Youtube, and more!

RE: New Game

Yes, you can get it to display smaller. It took me awhile to get it too. Open the image in Photoshop or another image editor and reduce the amount of pixels per inch to either 72 or 96. Then double check that the actual image measurement (the inches or centimetres that you want the image to display at) are what you want.
